Help at Home Through the Years

Honoring Our Caregivers and Employees – The Heart of Our Success
At the heart of Help at Home are the dedicated caregivers and employees who have shaped the organization’s legacy. Their commitment to compassionate care, leadership and innovation has been instrumental in the company’s growth and continued success. These spotlights highlight just a few of the many individuals who have dedicated their careers to making a difference.
Rina • 30-Year Journey of Growth
Rina’s career with Help at Home began as a caregiver, providing compassionate support to clients in need. Within just a year, her dedication and leadership skills were recognized, and she was offered a part-time supervisory role. What she initially saw as a temporary position turned into a 30-year journey of growth and impact.
As Help at Home expanded, Rina played a pivotal role in hiring, training and mentoring caregivers, ensuring they had the tools and knowledge to provide exceptional care. Many of the individuals she hired decades ago are still with the company today, a testament to her ability to build strong, committed teams. Now serving as an Area Manager, Rina oversees multiple locations, helping to guide teams through change and growth while keeping Help at Home’s mission at the forefront. She remains passionate about fostering a culture of support, inclusivity and professional development for caregivers.
Naomi • 26-Year Caregiver-Client Relationship
Twenty-six years is a long time in any job–but it’s especially remarkable in the case of Naomi, a caregiver in Mansfield, Ohio. She has been working with the same client, Monica, for 26 years. The client, who has developmental disabilities and is nonverbal, was a teenager when Naomi started working with her and is now 45 years old. They have developed standard routines. For example, Monica always puts her arms out for a hug after Naomi helps her get ready for bed. In the summer, they enjoy making trips to the pool. Naomi had previously worked at a nursing home, so she had a good idea of the kind of work she would be doing in home caregiving. Monica was one of her first three clients. Now Naomi works with Monica full time and even takes some night shifts. The flexibility of the job is one of the things Naomi loves the most, she said. Not only is the schedule itself somewhat flexible, but the kind of work varies from season to season and shift to shift. For Naomi, the best part of all is the knowledge that she has made a difference in someone’s life. Naomi said she enjoys making meaningful experiences possible for Monica.
