Person-Centered Care That Builds Possibility

Empowering Independence. Ensuring Safety. Building Meaningful Lives.

At Help at Home, we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and active participation in home and community life. We see the person—not just the diagnosis—and partner closely with families, Supports Coordinators, and care teams to deliver care that reflects each individual’s goals, strengths, and preferences.

Guided by Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Everyday Lives principles, we believe every person has the right to live the life they choose, build meaningful relationships, and participate fully in their community—with the right supports in place.

A True Partner in Care

Help at Home delivers safe, high-quality care while acting as a true partner to individuals, families, and care teams. Our approach is rooted in:

  • Trusted care and meaningful connections that go beyond tasks
  • A safety-first focus at home and in the community
  • Well-trained, supported Direct Support Professionals (DSP), including the option for a loved one to serve as the DSP
  • Proactive communication and responsiveness with families and Supports Coordinators

Our dedicated Intellectual and Developmental Disability Program Professionals and Specialists provide training, oversight, and ongoing support to all DSPs. We work closely with county and state partners, monitor progress, and advocate for service adjustments when needed. We can also provide support navigating Office of Developmental Programs services.

Direct Support Professionals You Can Trust

At the heart of our services are our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)—consistent, reliable caregivers who build trusted relationships and provide person-centered support. DSPs assist with daily routines, skill development, and community participation while acting as trusted companions and informal advocates.

Families can even serve as Direct Support Professionals. Help at Home is able to hire eligible family members—such as parents or guardians—to provide care, offering continuity, trust, and familiarity while ensuring professional training, oversight, and support from our experienced IDD team.

If you don’t have a family member who is able to provide support, we have extensive experience and a large dedicated recruiting and matching team to help find the caregiver who is right for your loved one.
